Increase BSNL Internet speed

Many BSNL Broadband and BSNL Cellone Dataone users (including me) are frustated by BSNL DNS servers. These BSNL DNS are very unresponsive. The look up takes a long duration and many times just time out. I was much frustated by BSNL. But, since this is most cost-effective, i decided to search for solution to speed up BSNL Internet Broadband and finally presenting you this BSNL Hack to increase BSNL Dataone/Broadband speed.

Speed up BSNL Dataone/Broadband Internet Connection:

To overcome slow BSNL DNS problem, we will use high speed DNS servers from OpenDNS. OpenDNS is third party DNS Server used to speed up BSNL Broadband internet connection.

Steps to speed up BSNL Dataone/Broadband Internet :

1. Open Control Panel -> Networking and Sharing Center -> Manage Network Connection.

2. Now a window showing all networks will be opened. Select BSNL Connection -> Right click -> Properties.

3. Now, double click on Internet Protocol Version(TCP/IPv4) and in newly opened window at bottom, select “Use the following DNS Server address” .

4. And fill these 2 DNS Addresses in two fields:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

and hit OK. Thats it. Your BSNL Internet Broadband DNS Servers changed.

Prevent Users From Writing to USB

If you have windows XP with SP2, then you can disable the writing option to USB drives. This trick is very useful if you have virus in your computer and want to copy files from a USB Drive but don’t want to transfer virus to the USB. Follow the given steps to disable the USB writing option:

To edit the computer registry, first you should log onto your computer with administrative rights.

First click on Start button and type “Regedit” in Run option.

Here locate the location to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control

Here in right side panel, click right to create a key with the name “StorageDevicePolicies”.

Now in left side panel, select “StorageDevicePolicies” key, again right click to create new DWORD value then label it “WriteProtect”. Set its value to “1″. But again to enable writing, set its values to “0″.

Now close the registry editor and restart your computer after any changes to go into effect.

Hacking Windows 7

This is a too bad to be true, Windows 7 can be easily hacked and there is no fix for it.

In HITBSecConf2009 Viping Kumar (Founder nvLabs.in) demonstrated how easily Windows 7 can be attacked via boot sectors using Vbootkit 2.0.

He demonstrated

The use of Vbootkit in gaining access to a system without leaving traces.

Leveraging normal programs to escalate system privileges.

Running unsigned code in kernel.

Worst part of this kind of attack (Bootkits) is almost impossible to detect. Simplest Process of VBootkit 2.0 is

Hook INT 13 ( for disk reads)

Keep on patching files as they load

Hook onto next stage

Repeat the above process, till we reach the kernel,

then sit and watch the system carefully

Good thing about this attack is that you need physical access to the machine at the start of the attack. Which minimise the risk level. Also if other have physical access to your computer, operating system cannot provide any security to your compute. This kind of attack can be driven to other operating systems as well.

Hacking a website or its member section: First of all,why you want to hack a webpage?Is it a certain webpage or any site at all? There are many reasons to hack a website, or a webmaster.Maybe you want to take a revenge or maybe you want to have fun or just learn how to do it ! You can deface the website which means replace the original index with a new one or you can gain access to the member area of the site which might be easier.

Defacing: You can deface the site through telnet or your browser by running remote commands on an old or misconfigured server, the hard thing to do is find an old server , maybe a network of a school or university would do,get a CGI BUG searcher.This program will scan ranges of IPs for web-servers and will scan them for known bugs in their cgis or other bugs and holes.You can learn how to exploite a certain hole by adding in yahoo the name of the bug/hole and the word exploit,search for “cmd.exe exploit”.There are more than 700 holes that many servers might have! You can also deface a website by finding the ftp password and just browse through the sites ftp and replace the index.htm.You do that with the :
Brute force: To do that you need a brute forcer or brute force attacker and some word lists,the brute forcer sends multiple user/pass requests of words that picks up from namelists and tries to hack the account untill it does! So lets say imagine a porn site that asks for a password , you go there you copy their address , you add the address in a program called brute forcer and then from the brute forcer you choose a text file with names to be used as usernames and a text with names to be used as passwords,the brute forcer will try untill it finds a correct user/pass This should be easier for the newbies than exploiting cgi bugs , many of the newbies havent even heard of it i hope i didnt confuse you with this tutorial there might be more tuts about web hacking and cgi bugs and such.Till then try to find the way to cgi bugs yourself with the cgi scanners in the Web Hacks section or download a brute forcer to crack accounts.

How To Change Your Windows Service Pack

Step 1: Open the run option from the start meny and type in 'regedit' and press enter
Step 2: Make a backup of your registry (just in case)
Step 3: Browse to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Control\ Windows"
Step 4: Modify the value of "CSDVersion" from "0x00000200" (SP2) to the Windows XP SP3 value of "0x00000300"
Step 5: Close registry editor
Step 6: Reboot your computer
